Lois' Vision

Alternative Options Health Care Foundations Center and Retreat will be a safe peaceful place where people from all over the world come and feel healthy and relaxed- a place of personal healing and self education.  It will be called HOPE for Healthy Options-Peaceful Energy.
Upon arriving at HOPE, guests are warmly greeted and settled in their lodging.  Food and drink of their dietary choice is offered along with a tour of the Health Center and Retreat.
On the land is the Health Center which houses a large reference library, exercise room, The Store for guests’ purchasing needs, educational training space and a variety of alternative health modalities.
Everyone wanting to improve their health and total well being are welcome.  The Center is available to help with chronic diseases and conditions.  The Philosophy followed is that the body can heal itself if detox and rebuilding takes place.  Everyone is a bio individual and there is not one way for everyone.  Everyone must have hope (confidence) to be able to heal, as they must believe in what they are doing.

The Center and Retreat grounds will be special needs equipped for personal care and personal enjoyment.  We want the special people on this earth and their families to have a place to get away, knowing there are facilities available to make it possible.  Lois is the legal guardian and care giver of her two sisters in law who are very special, coming to live on this earth in their 50 years old bodies that have cerebral palsy and their brains are cognitively at around 1-3 years.  They are here on this earth to teach us.  It is difficult to feel sorry for yourself if you have cancer or a chronic disease when you are surrounded by the pure love of Judy and Jean and other special people. They flow with life as it comes to them moment by moment.
They are not going to get over what is going on with their bodies like detox and rebuild will do for cancer.

At the Center and Retreat there will be a variety of lodgings developed as the Retreat grows. We will offer camping first.  Guests may prepare foods raw, cooked, and vegetarian or meat, depending on their individual diet.  They may bring food for their stay, eat organic fresh out of the garden or root cellar, or purchase other organic choices from The Store.  The Store will also provide guest with equipment needs, food and supplements for their treatments and natural personal care products.

With nonprofit status, a sliding fee system will be used.
I have personal experience with cancer and am aware of the expenses insurance does not cover.  Since people rarely have fund raisers for alternative medical costs, they can be held at HOPE.

At HOPE, seasonal activities are always gong on, such as planting and haying, harvesting with hay rides and bonfires, and ice skating under the stars.  Warming up around the fire at the sugar bush during springtime maple syruping is anxiously anticipated.

As a thank you to the community, I would like an annual event to take place that brings neighbors and friends together in fun health conscious celebration.  There will be Foundation fund raisers at HOPE, offering them in festive settings to gala events.

Someday we will build a huge building to house a Community Recreation Center.  I would love to create an indoor beach where your toes squish into the sand, warmed by ground geo thermal heat, and a waterfall cascades into a stream.  Guests are laughing as they play volleyball and horseshoe.  Some are exercising on the climbing wall, while others watch, sitting around munching on delicious organic snacks.  A current lap pool would be perfect for families and also  participates from our local special needs day program to enjoy. Cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and ice skating would be available through the Rec. Center. 

I see lots of people with wonderful energy coming to the Health Center and Retreat.  They make life changes and get well!  The word spreads and people talk about how there is HOPE at Healing Waters.  They can live and get healthier!!

At the Present Moment...

I have people contacting me, wanting to come to the Health Center and Retreat.  I am helping people with cancer to use healthy alternatives.  I just heard from one that the spots on his lungs are gone.  I am helping people regain their digestive health through the use of colonic irrigation and nutritional changes.  People call and talk to me and they want a place like HOPE to come to. 

We are always full of hope (confidence) that people will donate to the cause.  Our vision is not to make money except for operating costs.  I want to offer a service of healthy options and peaceful energy.  Our goal is to give people an opportunity at health options that are natural and following healthy life styles.  We will be teaching people how to go home and implement their care into a life style and stay well.

If the Health Center is going to be in our present home…we are waiting for how it is going to happen.  We would need to move out and have another home and that is not transpiring how we were going with plans.  The 100 acres we had a purchase agreement on for over a year is in foreclosure.  There has been a Sheriffs auction and they have about half of their farm redeem year left.  That place could still end up the site for HOPE.  For now, HOPE is at Healing Waters.
 
I am expanding my practice to work out of the Life Center in Brainerd, Minn.  I will not be offering hydro therapy colonics but will be working with people as their Nutrition Health Counselor/Coach.  I will join the staff at Life Center on September 1, 2008.
